About Southaven, MS - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Southaven is a suburb of Memphis, TN and has a population of approximately 30,000. It is small but quite pleasant and is full of friendly people and beautiful landscape. It is a great place to watch the leaves change in the fall and the flowers bloom in the spring. An ideal place to raise a family for people who work in Memphis, it is convenient to Memphis International Airport and downtown Memphis.

Southaven is home to the Mississippi Riverkings, a minor league hockey team that plays in Lander’s Center. Lander’s Center is also used as a concert hall, boxing arena and for events like circuses and ice shows. It is the ideal place to spend a cold, snowy winter day or a sweltering summer day. The ice rink is also used for skate classes and other family friendly activities. You can also take in shows at the Snowden Grove Amphitheatre.

The performing arts are the heartbeat of this area and there is theatre, music and more everywhere you go. Playhouse 51 is the local community theatre in nearby Millington, located within the town’s civic center. This group puts on 4 shows annually. In another nearby community, Germantown, is The Germantown Performing Arts Center (or GPAC) which opened with a bang in 1994 when Ray Charles performed. Either play would be an ideal way to spend any day or evening but, in particular, a cold, snowy Tennessee evening.

We would be remiss, of course, without mentioning Graceland when discussing local music and music history. The former home of Rock and Roll legend Elvis Presley is chock full of local music history and the pride and joy of Memphis. People come from far and wide to take tours and every year, in August, on the anniversary of his death, there is a procession through the estate and past Mr. Presley’s grave. The largest turn out for this event was in 2002. This was the 25th anniversary of his death and 40,000 people came to memorialize the rock legend even though it was unseasonably rainy for August, which is typically hot and dry in Memphis.
